Sri Lanka Pavilion at 32nd edition of Tokyo International Mineral Fair-2019 (TIMA) from 06th to 10th of June 2019 was organized by National Gem & Jewellery Authority, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association and Japan Gem Society with the assistance of Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo collaboratively.
Japan was once the major trading platform for fine and quality gem stones of Sri Lanka and retain in the Japan market is important for the specific profile of gem dealers and lapidarists. NGJA has taken all its efforts since year 2006 with the establishment of Sri Lanka Pavilion at the International Jewellery Tokyo (IJT) Fair and 2016 & 2017 Sri Lanka Gem Festa in Aurum Building-Tokyo.
The exhibition was conveyed by Tokyo International Mineral Association (TIMA) as 32nd edition at Space Seven Event Hall, Tokyo. The exhibition had impressively drawn the participation over 1100 exhibitors from 31 countries and targeting over 30,000 genuine buyers. Eight exhibitors were accommodated in special exhibition area for Sri Lanka pavilion at the ground floor of the event under the theme of “Spectrum of colours- Ceylon Sapphires”
H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Ganganath Dissanayake, Mr. Akira Ito- Chairperson of Japan Gem Society and representative of Tokyo International Mineral Association hosted the pavilion at the opening day for traders on 6th of June 2019.
