    1. Export Procedure

All Gems, Diamonds Jewellery & Diamond Studed Jewellery Exports Should Be Channeled Through The Export Divisions Of The National Gem & Jewellery Authority (N.G.J.A), At 25, Galle Face Terrace, Colombo 03, Diamond Unit At The Air Cargo Village, Katunayake Or  ‘Gem Centre' Ratnapura

Requirements:

Should Obtain A Gem Dealers License To Cover The Value Of The Merchandise To Be     Exported. (This License Could Be Obtained For Varying Amounts Depending On The Maximum Stock You Will Hold At Any Given Time).& Jewellery Registration License

Exporters Who Wish To Export Their Gems And Jewellery Should Bring Their Goods To The Export Division -National Gem & Jewellery Authority Along With Following Documents Before 1.30 P.M. On All Working Days & Saturdays. Eight (08) Copies Of Commercial Invoice.
The Following Details Should Be Given In The Invoice. (Format Is Given Below)

    1. Exporter's Name & Address

    2. Buyer's Name & Address

    3. Buyer's Bank Address

    4. Terms Of Payments (This Is Not Necessary If The Payment Is Received In Advance)

    5. Exchange Rate Prevent On The Date Of Export.

  • Sri Lanka Customs – 2nd Copy

  • ‘Ngja’ Statistic Division – 3rd Copy

  • 4th Copy To Be Used To Make Relevant Payments To Ngja

  • ‘Sri Lanka Customs’ Statistic Division - 5th Copy

  • 6th To 8th Copies Are Released To The Exporter. They Are Used To Obtain Insurance Cover, For Airmail/ Air Freight Purposes, Gsp Certificate, Ata ‘Carnet’ Certification And A Copy To Be    Retained By The Exporter
