Director General’s Message

Greetings, Honorable Members

As the Director General of Sri Lanka’s National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA), I have the great pleasure of addressing you. In a field rife with custom and history, our authority shines as it strikes a balance between upholding our heritage and welcoming innovation and modernity.

Our mission at the National Gem and Jewellery Authority is very clear: to control and promote the growth of Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery sector. We take this obligation very seriously and work hard to create an atmosphere that is favourable to investment, development, and opportunity for all parties involved.

The development of a responsible and sustainable gem and jewellery sector is at the heart of our purpose. We work closely with our partners to maintain moral standards and guarantee the authenticity of our products. We are committed to preserving and enhancing Sri Lanka’s position as a world leader in excellent gemstones and jewellery.

As we look ahead, we see the obstacles in our way, but we also see the countless opportunities they bring. We are confident in our ability to overcome these challenges and take our industry to new heights via innovation and teamwork.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of our stakeholders for their consistent cooperation and support. Your suggestions and cooperation are really helpful to us as we strive toward our common objectives.

In addition, the National Gem and Jewellery Authority remains unwavering in its resolve to take the gem business to previously unheard-of heights in the coming year. We’re on track to meet our lofty goals because we’re committed to sustainability, global cooperation, technological innovation, and the empowerment of regional artisans.

Let’s work together to keep Sri Lankan gemstones’ inherent brilliance known to the world while maintaining our position as a global leader in the gem and jewellery industries.

I appreciate your commitment and hard work.
