Our mandate is to regulate and develop the gem and jewellery industry in Sri Lanka, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We strive to create an environment that fosters growth, promotes investment, and provides opportunities for all those involved in the industry.
We are committed to ensuring that the gem and jewellery industry in Sri Lanka is a sustainable and responsible one, and we work closely with our partners to achieve this. We are proud of the fact that Sri Lanka is renowned for its high-quality gems and jewellery, and we will continue to work to maintain and enhance this reputation.
As we look to the future, we are aware of the challenges that lie ahead, but we are also excited about the opportunities that they present. We are confident that, by working together, we can overcome these challenges and continue to grow and develop our industry.

Further, the National Gem and Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka is committed to propelling the gem industry to new heights in 2023. With a steadfast focus on sustainable practices, international partnerships, technological advancements, and the empowerment of local artisans, we are confident in achieving our target of earning 1 billion dollars from the gems, diamonds, and studded jewellery exports, with 500 million dollars solely from gems. Together, we will continue to shine as a global leader in the gem and jewellery industry, showcasing the natural brilliance of Sri Lankan gemstones to the world.
