The National Gem and Jewellery Authority entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sri Lanka Police

The National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Lanka Police on April 3, 2025, at the Sri Lanka Police Headquarters.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Naveen Sooriyarachchi, Chairman and CEO of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, and Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, Acting Inspector General of Police, on behalf of the respective institutions.

This MoU establishes a framework for enhanced cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the exchange of information relating to investigations and prosecutions concerning money laundering, terrorist financing, and other related offences.

The signing of this MoU also marks a significant milestone in achieving Immediate Outcome No. 15 of the NGJA’s 2023–2028 Action Plan on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT).
