Introduction to the In-house Dedicated AML/CFT Unit at the National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA)
The National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA) has established a specialized Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) unit, following the board’s approval.
This dedicated unit is composed entirely of NGJA officials who are committed to addressing and mitigating the sector-specific threats related to money laundering (ML) and terrorist financing (TF).
The primary ambition of this unit is to support and execute all tasks associated with AML/CFT to ensure the integrity and security of the gem and jewellery sector. By leveraging the active commitment and expertise of its members, the NGJA aims to effectively combat financial crimes and safeguard the industry’s reputation and stability.
Through this initiative, the NGJA demonstrates its dedication to upholding high standards of regulatory compliance and contributing to the broader national and international efforts against financial crimes.
